Metabolis is a video game in the action genre developed by Gremlin Graphics Software Limited and published by Gremlin Graphics Software Limited originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Your land has been invaded by the evil Kremins and with their magic they have turned all your friends and family into birds and mice. You too have been turned into a bird, but luckily the transformation was not complete and you kept your brain. You have decided that you are the only one who can defeat the Kremins and break the spell. In this arcade-like platformer game you have to explore their huge domain of the flicker screen in search of the serum that will turn you into a human. A wizard also needs to find to strengthen your weakened heart before collecting four pieces of a nuclear fuel to place in the reactor room to blow up the domain, destroy all Kremins and break the spell.

As you fly through the domain screens you will encounter various creatures that drain your health and are shown at the bottom of the screen as a bird that turns into a skeleton. They are to be avoided, but you can find a boomerang to kill them. If you run out of energy, it's game over, but you can find items to increase your energy, as well as pills to keep your heart going, as flying around drains it. Resting helps your heart but you are open to being touched by creatures. You have to watch out for traps, such as closing doors and fires, and a touch means it's game over.
