The closest comparison to this action game would be Afterburner, a game that should have been decently recreated on the home computer. The game takes place slightly behind your plane, which must shoot at enemy planes, tanks and installations while avoiding their fire. You are armed with different types of weapons, including drop bombs, air-to-air missiles, and a nuclear bomb. You can collect more of each by picking up the parachutes that are dropped in your path. There are mountain ranges, deserts and arctic scenarios to clear along the way, with large boss planes to contend with.
