Moontorc

Moontorc is a video game in the action genre developed by The Shaw Brothers and published by Atlantis Software Limited originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC.

Princess Lalena has been kidnapped by the Lord of Darkness and your task is to rescue her through four levels in this fast-paced screen platformer. You are armed with a sword and must traverse each screen while avoiding or killing various creatures that, when touched, drain your energy. When your energy runs out, it's game over. In addition to the creatures, there are certain obstacles to avoid, such as water, which also drains your energy. To complete a level you must have three pieces of a Moontorc to give to the trolls guarding the end of the level.

As you progress through the level you will find chests containing gold and colored doors that require you to find the correct colored key to open them. You will also come across stores and in them you will be able to purchase various items that will help you in your quest. Each store will have certain items and the items that can be brought for the gold found in the chests are pieces of Moontorc, keys, energy food, spells, shields and axes. You have a backpack that allows you to carry four items and pieces of Moontorc. Below the main game area there is a bar that shows the different objects you have and can have and if you press the space bar you can move from one object to another to select them.
