Orange Squash

Orange Squash is a video game in the action genre and published by Merlin Software U.K. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Orange Squash is a single-screen platformer in which you play Oswald the Orange, who is trying to escape from his packing crate at the ACME fruit processing factory in the Spanish countryside, to avoid being turned into pure orange juice. On each screen there is a flag and you must navigate the platforms using the smaller platforms to go up, and the ropes to go down, and touch the flag, before your juice meter empties. The juice meter is constantly decreasing, but you can collect lemons along the way to keep increasing it. There are several creatures on the screen that you can avoid or shoot, but the shot creatures reappear after a couple of seconds. If you get hit or shot by a creature, you lose part of your juice meter and return to the top of the screen. Once the juice meter is empty, the game is over and, before starting a game, you can choose from five skill levels (1-5).
