Description Overdrive
Overdrive is a racing game similar to Pole Position but with straight tracks, no curves. The five tracks have different scenarios such as fields, night, snow, desert and riverside. From the end, the player needs to finish among the top of the racing pack to progress. This is displayed through a bar at the top of the screen. For each car that is overtaken, the indicator moves to the right. The player has to reach the blue part of the bar to advance. At the end bonus points are awarded for each car overtaken.
The car can move on five zones of the track. Two keys are used to accelerate or brake. You need to run at high speed to finish among the first in time, but that also makes it more difficult not to crash with the other cars. When destroyed, you can immediately continue the game, but you have to increase your speed again. Opponents can also crash into the back of the player's car when the speed is too low. Progress is not saved, so when a course is not finished in time you have to start again from the first stage.
