Bass Masters Classic
This game consists of five 3-day tournaments on four lakes. The mission is to catch as many large bass as possible. After the day's fishing tournament is over, the five largest bass caught are weighed and compared to the catches of the other anglers. The one with the heaviest catch is the winner.
The player begins by choosing an angler. Next, the player can go to the bait store, the practice pond or start in the tournament. In the bait store, baits, lines, rods, reels, fish finders and boat motors can be purchased. The practice pond mode is the place where the player can familiarize himself with the game mechanics without consequences.
Tournament mode is the main part of the game. Players start on a fishing boat. Some of the factors that can affect fishing are temperature, wind speed, water clarity and time of day. After casting the line, the game switches from a view above the lake to a side view of the depth of the lake water. The player must then lure the fish with the bait and, once the fish is caught on the hook, retrieve it.
Madden 96
Madden 96 is the second and final iteration of the American soccer franchise that appeared on the Game Gear. It is based closely on the previous year's game, with one major difference: it loses the NFL license, so it features only generic team names. Still, the teams, stats and schedules are based on the 1995 NFL season, with the two new expansion teams and rule changes, such as two-point conversion, included.
The main game modes, Exhibition, Season and Playoffs, return unchanged from the previous game, and a new Sudden Death mode has been added. Thirty teams plus the traditional All-Madden are available. Features, controls and graphics (top-down vertical scrolling) are largely unchanged from the previous game. The main changes are the redesign of the menu system, the overhaul of the playbook, the addition of injuries and substitutions, which are now available for all positions, not just quarterbacks.
Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Before each level, you select your character from the movie (Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia or Chewbacca), as each has different abilities, and you will try to overcome the levels based on scenes from the movie wielding lightsabers, blasters or crossbows, etc. . depending on your choice of character.
The game consists of standard platforming action spiced up with some slightly different (in terms of gameplay) sequences. Race to Jabba the Hutt's palace on a speeder, fight Jabba the Hutt's minions before killing Jabba himself, control speeder bikes and the Millennium Falcon, and much more.
Time Killers
Time Killers is a 2D fighting game released in 1996 for the Genesis console. Developed by Incredible Technologies, it was originally an arcade game before being ported to home consoles. Its unique selling point was the ability to use weapons in battle, making it stand out from other fighting games of its time.
The game's premise revolves around eight immortal warriors from different time periods, each with their own motives and abilities. They are transported to a cosmic arena where they must fight to the death in order to claim the ultimate prize - the Time Crystal, which grants immortality and control over all of time. This sets the stage for an epic battle that spans different eras and dimensions.
One of the most interesting aspects of Time Killers is its use of weapons. Each character has their own unique weapon, ranging from swords and axes to futuristic laser guns. These weapons not only add an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay, but also make for some visually stunning and bloody battle scenes. Another unique feature is the ability to dismember opponents during fights, adding a gruesome element to the game.
In terms of gameplay, Time Killers offers a variety of modes to keep players engaged. The Story Mode follows the journey of each character as they fight through multiple opponents and eventually face off against the boss, Death himself. There is also a Versus Mode where players can battle against each other in local multiplayer. Additionally, the game offers a Practice Mode where players can hone their skills and learn each character's moves.
One of the game's strengths lies in its diverse character roster. From Victorian knights to cyborgs from the future, each character not only looks unique but also plays differently. This allows players to find a favorite character and master their moves, adding to the game's replay value.
However, the game does have some shortcomings. The character sprites can appear pixelated and the controls can be clunky at times, making it difficult to execute moves accurately. Furthermore, the graphics and sound effects are not as polished as other games released in the same year.
