Starbase 13

Amiga 1993
Starbase 13 is a point-and-click science fiction adventure game for the Amiga, created in AMOS. Using a LucasArts-style action bar, seven actions are performed. The seven actions are 'Walk', 'Examine', 'Manipulate', 'Use', 'Take', 'Talk' and 'Shoot'. 'Use' is for '(. . . . ) in (. . . ) Use' and 'Operate' are different because 'Use' always deals with two objects, like 'Use with', while 'Operate' always deals with one object. There are five save slots, which can be saved by pressing F6-F10 and loaded by pressing F1-F5. Starbase 13 is a bit inconsistent, and you may have to manually guide your character away from obstacles by clicking on some points along the way. The protagonist of the game is Jeno Hou, a crew member of the spaceship 8. 3. At the beginning of the game, the captain calls him and assigns him the task of investigating a space station that is sending out distress signals. Unlike adventure games, in Starbase 13 you can die, and in some parts you need reflexes to succeed. Starbase 13' was released in 1995 with a sequel called 'Epsilon 9: Revenge of the Stingons'.

The Lost Prince

Amiga 1994
In 1994, the Amiga game, The Lost Prince, was released with much anticipation from gamers of the day. An immersive adventure game, it follows the story of a man named Arthur Holly who, after finding a mysterious amulet, is transported to a fantastical parallel world. In this strange and beautiful land, Arthur embarks on a journey to find the lost crown and restore the realm to its true king, the missing Prince Edmund. As he progresses, Arthur interacts with characters such as a friendly wizard, as well as fearsome ‘Dark King’ guards, fighting his way past enemies in some thrilling side-scrolling action. The game’s most interesting aspect is the freedom it provides. It is not strictly linear, with various subplots to follow and romantic love interests to pursue, as well as a range of puzzles to solve throughout the game. The Lost Prince also offers an impressive range of weapons and magical attacks, from Arthur’s sword to spells thrown from a magical slingshot. The Lost Prince was a great success and it strengthened the Amiga as a powerful player in the world of the gaming industry. It took gamers on an exciting adventure filled with both action and exploration, offering hours of entertainment.
