Fighter Duel Pro is the second in Jaeger Software's Fighter Duel series for Amiga.
You fight against 1-2 computer opponents or 1 human opponent in 3 areas around an aircraft carrier base in a World War II era fighter plane (CAP). Analog rudder controls have been added (a mouse can also be used), and an optional second Amiga and monitor can be connected via a special parallel cable to use the rear view.
Scoring and tournament modes have also been added, as well as a simplified replay mode that lets you see the last minute of your flight from your perspective only. There is also a 'turbo' panning feature that lets you move quickly around the map, and the scenery has been updated. You can play solo with 1 or 2 computer pilots or with 2 human pilots via a modem or null modem connection.
There are 16 WWII aircraft to choose from.
5 U. S. aircraft.
Chance Vought F4U Corsair
North American P-51 Mustang
Lockheed P-38L Lightning
Republic P-47 Thunderbolt
Grumman F6F Hellcat
United Kingdom 5 units
Supermarine Spitfire Mk.
Fighter Duel Pro 2 is an enhanced version of the original 'Fighter Duel Pro' with nine additional aircraft. All previous aircraft and game modes have been retained, while new game modes have been added.
There is a new single-player mode with a maximum of one versus four computer-controlled aircraft, and a multiplayer mode with two humans versus computer-controlled aircraft, which can be played in a pilot/gunner or leader/warlord configuration. The gunnery has been redesigned with computer lead cannon sights. There is also an anti-aircraft gunner mode, in which players can defend their positions against enemy aircraft invading from the ground.
Hardware support for the AGA graphics chipset speeds up simulations on the Amiga 1200 and 4000 models, but the original chipset is still supported. Sky shading has been improved from the previous uniform blue color, and the aircraft configuration interface has been updated. Aircraft damage types have been increased, and view control via joystick hat switches is supported. Game chat is now available in flight.
The number of aircraft types has been increased from 16 to 25, including 9 new types.

Fighter Duel: Corsair vs. Zero is a combat flight simulation game for one or two players.
In the single player version, you can choose between training with AI pilots and combat (CAP). The training consists of a basic/advanced piloting area, two basic/advanced gunnery areas, and finally landing on an aircraft carrier - remember to deploy the tailhook. Near the carrier, the guns are disabled and the landing slope indicator is activated instead.
In single combat, players start on the carrier deck and engage in one-on-one combat in three areas 12 nm out to sea from the carrier. Each area is centered on terrain such as two towers, a high arch or two islands. The enemy can choose between two aircraft: the Chance Vought F4-U-1D 'Corsair' and the Mitsubishi A6M5a 'Zero'.
In two-player mode, players start in the air in one of three areas: tower, arch or island. Both players must select the same area and also opposite starting directions (north and south) or the session will fail. In addition, the aircraft being played against must be different and the same aircraft cannot be played against. The carrier models are the US Navy's Bunker Hill (CV-17) and the Japanese Navy's Shohaku.
