The War of the Fifth Coalition against Napoleon's France had just begun. The Battle of Raszyn was fought on April 19, 1809 between the Polish army of the Duchy of Warsaw (commanded by Prince Poniatowski) and the invading forces of the Austrian Empire marching towards Warsaw. Despite outnumbering the enemy 2 to 1, the Austrian troops were defeated.
Raszyn 1809 is a turn-based tactical level strategy game for one or two players. You can command Polish-Saxon or Austrian forces - infantry and cavalry, supported by artillery. Apart from historical settings, fictional and random options are available. The player wins when he holds the village until night (or when it is captured by troops - when playing with the Austrian side).
The game comes with information about the historical background of the battle.
