Description Shining in the Darkness
This is a story-based console RPG, and is the first in the series of three Shining games for the Genesis (followed by Shining Force and Shining Force II). The Kingdom of Thornwood has been invaded by the men of Dark Sol, and your job is to defeat them. To do so, you will need the Weapons of Light.
The game is a first-person RPG, with turn-based combat and cartoonish graphics. Dialogue is shown through dialogue bubbles that appear over the talking characters, although the protagonist never speaks. There are no side quests: the game's secrets consist of locating and using a special metal to forge esoteric items. There are between 25 and 30 hours of gameplay, before the final battle and ending sequence.
