Description Shuttle Simulator

This game is an early simulation of the NASA space shuttle on a mission to recover a failed satellite. Most of the controls are operated with the joystick. The mission consists of five different stages:Launch: After an automatic liftoff out of Earth's gravity, the shuttle is guided to a rendezvous point: With the satellite in sight, approach it until you are standing next to it. Arm: Use the robotic arm to pick up the floating satellite and carry it to the shuttle's cargo space. Entry: As in the launch stage, but without throttle control, guide the shuttle to a target box indicated on the plotting instrument. Final Approach: From an exterior view of the shuttle, attempts to decelerate while descending to an altitude of zero. The main view is from the cockpit, with a small strip in the center dedicated to the exterior view, and the rest composed of instruments and indicators. All of these instruments, which indicate mission stages, spacecraft attitude and heading, as well as altitude and velocity, are functional. Some parts of the mission are moved to an external view for pedagogical reasons. To make the game easier for beginners, the mission is not interrupted if a certain stage is not completed, but points are awarded for the way each stage is completed.
