Snakes can be described as a simplistic variation on the Centipede theme, crossed with the obscure Atari VCS game Sssnake. You move your little man around a screen populated by a few shovel-shaped mushrooms, when from the edges, a snake slithers across the screen. The snake advances in a straight line until it hits a wall or mushroom, in which case it makes a turn. You can shoot the snake and make it disappear, but only if you hit it in the head, which requires precise timing. If you wait too long, more and more Snakes enter the screen, and sooner or later you'll hit one of them, and it's game over.
