Description Space Invaders
This conversion of Space Invaders stays very faithful to the original despite being written in BASIC. The gameplay is exactly the same, with the player in control of a tank at the bottom of the screen that shoots at the advancing aliens. The aliens shoot back and the player can take cover behind bunkers. The bunkers give way a little more easily than in the arcade version due to fewer pixels. The sound also tries to be faithful to the original with the beat speed increasing as the aliens approach.
Obviously, the Commodore PET version does not include any color in its graphics. The Commodore 64 version does, but the aliens do not change color as they approach.
