Space Phreeks

Space Phreeks is a video game in the action genre developed by Interesting Software and published by Tronix Publishing, Inc. originally released in 1982. It is currently playable on VIC-20.

Space Phreeks is a single-player Galaga-style shooter in which the player faces arrays of invaders that require destruction to earn points and survive. The aliens are divided into 5 types: 'Heart attacks', the most powerful and lethal ones move quickly to kill. 'Pearons', which use their maneuvering ability to protect themselves while trying to hit and slow you down. 'Energridders' are the midfield powerbacks, brightly colored and easy to spot amidst the clutter, they will try to close in as a group, isolate you and destroy you. The 'hindheads' are always positioned at the rear of enemy formations, seemingly slow to act, and will bring you into harm's way if you don't deal with them quickly. The 'towelheads' are the players on the periphery, constantly harassing you as you try to fight your way through to engage the next wave.

Space Phreeks offers the player 15 levels of combat.

Scoring is very basic: each enemy kill, of any kind, will earn you 50 points.
