Spyder

Spyder is a video game in the action genre developed by Mirror Images Software, Inc. and published by Mirror Images Software, Inc. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on DOS.

Freddy Fish, Fleet Sweep and Spyder are three arcade classics from Mirror Images Software, undoubtedly one of the most obscure game developers ever. Like Windmill Software, Mirror Images produced games 'inspired' (to put it mildly) by well-known arcade classics, most often ATARI games. All of them play quite well, but don't really offer any innovation that differentiates them from the original classics.

Of this trio, Spyder is probably the best game of the lot: you shoot spiders falling from the ceiling, and there are a few surprises in the later levels to keep things interesting. Fleet Sweep is a lot of fun, but it gets tedious after a while, when a lot of fish fill the screen. All three games, except Spyder, suffer from quick replayability, but will keep your interest for at least a few minutes.
