Starmaster is a video game in the action genre developed by Activision, Inc. and published by Activision, Inc. originally released in 1982. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
This is a space shooter with cockpit view, very similar to 'Star Raiders' in the sense that it does not require a keyboard. With your own spaceship, you have to head to a sector of space where an enemy ship is located. Here you must engage the enemy ship and destroy it before it surrounds you and destroys your base. In the starbase sector, use the joystick to guide your reticle when there is a starbase nearby for repair or refueling. During combat, you can take damage; if an L is displayed, it means your laser is malfunctioning. If an L is displayed, it means the laser is malfunctioning, which means it cannot fire (this is not good in combat!). If a W shows up, it means your warp engine is damaged. If an S appears, it means your shields are not working. If an R appears, it means that your radar is damaged. You will not be able to see the enemies on the star map until the radar is repaired. Except in the case of destroyed starbases, the radar will still appear as damaged. When you warp, if the screen below is green, you are heading to an empty sector. If it is red, you are heading to a sector with enemies. If it is blue, you go to a sector with a starbase. The game ends when all enemies are eliminated or you are eliminated. Your final score will be that of your base, plus 100 points per enemy destroyed, 500 points per space base destroyed, 100 points for each space base you dock at and 1 point per day of the space calendar.
