Storm

Storm is a video game in the action genre developed by Computerware and published by MicroDeal Ltd. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Dragon 32/64.

Storm is a clone of Atari's arcade hit Tempest, but whereas that game used crisp vector graphics, this version is rendered in blocky text graphics.

The player controls a ship that moves along the edge of a tunnel-like construction. Various colored bars emerge from the end of the tunnel. Moving through the mouth of the tunnel, you shoot at the bars until you reach a certain score, which will take you to the next level. With only 99 shots awarded in each level, it is better to let the bars reach the end of the tunnel than to miss them with your gun. However, one type of bar that should not be missed is the orange one, called 'Millibars'. These, if they reach the edge of the tunnel, will chase you. After a while, the Millibars will disappear, but if more than one has reached the edge where you are, avoiding them for a long time can be very difficult. The game gradually becomes more difficult as you progress through the levels, and in later levels, the tunnel itself no longer appears.
