Thundercross is a video game in the action genre developed by Zen Room, The and published by CRL Group PLC originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.
You are the captain of the good ship Thundercross but problems are arising with the thrusters and power. No matter how much you use them, the ship seems to be dragged by a strange force. You realize that there is a huge ship in the area pulling you towards it. To make matters worse, the ship has sent several smaller ships to destroy you. The only course of action is to engage the giant ship and blow it up. You must avoid and kill the smaller ships attacking you before flying over the surface of the ship and destroying everything you can. After flying over the surface, you must again engage the smaller ships before flying over the surface of another part of the ship. The ships fire missiles at you and on the ship itself there are several defenses that also fire. A hit from a ship, part of the ship or any bullet means that your shield meter decreases. Once it is empty, it's game over.
Thundercross is a horizontal scrolling shoot-em-up viewed from above with the screen constantly scrolling. You move your ship with the joystick but it doesn't shoot while moving. To shoot you have to hold down the fire button and move the joystick. The ship does not move when the fire button is held down.
