Tim Love's Cricket

Tim Love's Cricket is a video game in the sports genre and published by Peaksoft originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Dragon 32/64.

It's time to dig out the whites and pads and play a game of cricket. Here's your chance to play a sixty second match against a friend or the computer. You can choose your own team, but if you don't feel like it, England or Rest of the World are your two choices. If you win the toss, you can choose to pitch or bat first. Another option is your skill level, Test, County or Village. If you choose to bowl first, you can choose from six bowlers who are fast, medium or spin bowlers.

The game is viewed behind the bowler and umpire at a high angle. As the bowler runs to the crease, you can control the speed, direction and release of the ball. Spin and swing can also be controlled for the spin or medium spin bowler. After releasing the ball, the screens change and you can now see the front view of the batter at a high angle. The batter can control the angle and height of the bat, as well as his position at the crease.

If the ball is hit or misses without reaching the stumps or an LBW, the view changes to a top view of the field showing the position of all fielders. Here the batter can decide to run or control the fielder closest to the ball.
