Toad Force

Toad Force is a video game in the action genre and published by Players Software originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

You are a Biomechanical Toad fighter and you have been sent to a planet that contains the central computer of an advanced defense system to destroy it. You start on the surface and must make your way through five levels with your Jet-pack and laser destroying the aliens to take down the computer. The atmosphere is not good for you and will drain you of several important levels such as H2, PU and O2 but in places scattered around the planet there are bottles to collect to keep your levels topped up. The Jet-Pack has energy that is depleted by touching aliens, being hit by bullets or colliding with obstacles. When the energy or level reaches zero, it's game over. There is also a temperature gauge that affects your Toad.

Toad Force is a horizontal scrolling shooter game viewed from the side where you can move left or right and the screen scrolls as you move. Each level can be scrolled through gaps in the surface or ceiling. A joystick is used to control your toad.
