Tommy's Tenpins

Tommy's Tenpins is a video game in the sports genre developed by Tommy's Toys and published by Tommy's Toys originally released in 1987. It is currently playable on DOS.

Tommy's Tenpins is a shareware single-player game for up to four people. Like most of Tommy's games, it uses character graphics and is controlled entirely with the keyboard. It has basic sound effects and command-line switches that, among other things, can start the game with sound off or force a color or monochrome display.

This game has nine skill levels, game instructions, a score table and basic sound. The lower half of the screen is devoted to the representation of a bowling lane running from left to right. On the far left, the ball, represented by an 'O' character, moves up and down the end of the lane with great speed. The player has to judge the right moment to press the space bar and release his ball. The ball moves in a straight line across the screen where the pins are located. Success here depends on timing, no consideration is given to spin, speed or weight of the ball.
