Description Tournament Tennis
Tournament Tennis is one of the first tennis games to feature, or even create, many conventions that would become standard features in later tennis simulations. Matches can be played at the quarterfinal, semifinal, or final level: if a level is won, the player automatically moves on to the next. They can last 3 or 5 sets, and a player needs a 2-game lead to win a set, although the tiebreaker occurs at 6-6 in all but the last set.
The view is pseudo-3D, from above the court, and features a shadow over the ball to give a more realistic look to its movement and make it easier to assess the height of the ball. Spectators turn their heads to watch the action, and ball boys run around the court to retrieve dead balls. Shot speed, direction and spin can be applied, and forehand and backhand shots are possible.
