Description Verso
IBM's adaptation of the timeless board game known as Othello/Reversi, in which two players exchange turns to place checkers on the game board, attempting to enclose consecutive chains of opponent's checkers between two checkers of their own. A straight or diagonal line of checkers thus trapped will switch sides to the color of the player who captures them; when all possible moves are exhausted, the player with the most checkers on the board wins. Verso can be played against a human partner or against the CPU.
Traditionally, the opening layout places four checkers (two for each player) in the center of the board. This is the default, but this particular version of the game includes a board editor, which allows you to modify the initial layout of the checkers by changing their numbers and positions. If the game leaves you stumped, you can request that all available moves (or a recommended move) be shown; you can even undo your last move in a pinch.
