Vindex is a pseudo-3D space-age shooter, with special visual effects such as scalable sprites and a nicely animated grid-style scrolling terrain.
The execution of the game can be compared to the gameplay style of Sega's classic Space Harrier. The player navigates a spaceship around the screen, while the objective is to neutralize incoming armadas of aliens.
Points are awarded for each enemy eliminated, and the usual extra life is awarded for specific sums of points. There are a total of nine levels in which you must fight your way through to save the galaxy.
