Voodoo Nightmare

Voodoo Nightmare is a video game in the action genre developed by Zippo Games and published by Palace Software, Ltd. originally released in 1990. It is currently playable on Amiga, Atari ST.

Boots Barker is not having a good day. His wife and best friend have cheated on him and, during a balloon trip over Africa, he is left there to die. And he probably will because a medicine man has forced him to wear a voodoo mask that prevents him from leaving the jungle permanently. To get rid of it, he has to find that healer.

Voodoo Nightmare is an isometric action game with puzzle elements. The game world consists of a jungle and five temples that have to be cleared. To do this, Boots has to travel inside the temples, collect all the diamonds and offer them to the temple god. In return, he receives a magical ability for this voodoo doll that allows him to advance elsewhere in the jungle. Some of these diamonds are hidden and you have to find them by killing the right enemy or performing actions, for example, jumping puzzles or sliding blocks correctly. Extra fruit and jewels act as currency and can be reinvested in jungle stores that have useful items in stock, e. g. weapons, dynamite or maps. If Boots is feeling lucky, he can also visit the casinos.
