BloodNet is a video game in the adventure genre developed by MicroProse Software, Inc. and published by MicroProse Software, Inc. originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS.

The player steps into the shoes of Ransom Stark, a computer hacker, freeloader or mercenary (depending on how the player answers the initial questions when starting a new game) who becomes embroiled in a sinister affair involving an evil global megacorporation, TransTechnicals, Manhattan, a struggle for Cyberspace and vampires.

Ransom Stark was afflicted with Hopkins-Brie ontological syndrome while working at TransTechnicals, due to prolonged forced exposure to cyberspace while working there. As soon as he was diagnosed, he was laid off from TransTech and found himself homeless and hopeless. Fortunately, a resourceful woman with a personal vendetta against TransTech named Deirdre Tackett saved his life by inserting a prototype brain implant of her own design, which gave him back his grip on reality.

Over the next year, Ransom became known as a trusted freelancer until one day he landed a job worth far more than he expected. His employers turned out to be vampires and, as part of his 'payment', Ransom was turned into a follower of the evil vampire boss, Abraham Van Helsing - except that his brain implant was activated allowing him to maintain temporary control of his humanity.

Now Ransom must stop Van Helsing's plans to take over Manhattan and control cyberspace and hopefully save himself from being a vampire before it's too late.
