Communist Mutants from Space is an arcade action game with gameplay similar to Space Invaders. Your objective is to defend your home planet from various mutant warriors attacking you. You must control the anti-mutant cannon at the bottom of the screen and shoot as many mutants as possible at the top. At the top of the screen, the Mother Creature creates mutant eggs, which fall into formations. The eggs gradually hatch into various creatures, which fly down and try to blow up the bombs or crash into the cannon. Once the Mother Creature and all mutants on the screen are destroyed, the player can move on to the next more challenging level. Several gameplay options are available, such as activating or deactivating shields, guided fire, time warp to temporarily slow down and penetrating fire to take out multiple mutants with a single shot.
