Danger Ranger

Danger Ranger is a video game in the action genre and published by MicroDeal Ltd. originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit, Dragon 32/64.

Danger Ranger is a fixed screen platform game. It takes place on two screens.

In the first screen, consisting of five floors of platforms, you must jump between the platforms with your Ranger, collecting all the keys. To complicate things, some floors are inhabited by dangerous birds or bats, which you can shoot with your gun. Also, the left and right boundaries of the screen are patrolled by floating objects that shoot lightning bolts whenever you are on the same level as them. They can also be knocked down, but regenerate soon after. Since your Ranger can't jump high enough to reach the platforms above his head, your only way to collect the missing keys is to take the elevator at the bottom of the screen.

In the second screen, your Ranger walks along the platforms to collect the treasure chests. All around the screen are deadly masks that must be knocked down in order to advance. Meanwhile, a deadly rain falls from both above and below, making your steps difficult. Once you have completed both screens, you move on to the next level, where the enemies are more numerous.

The game can be played in the usual green, buff and black/white color schemes on the Dragon, while the Tandy version plays in the NTSC artifact colors; orange and blue.
