Pilot Down: Behind Enemy Lines is a video game in the action genre developed by Wide Games and published by Oxygen Interactive originally released in 2005. It is currently playable on Windows.
During World War II, more than 180,000 allied airmen were shot down in enemy territory. In this game, one of them tries to crawl through enemy territory to safety in Switzerland.
The game consists mainly of crawling through various environments, such as sawmills and wilderness areas, making as little noise as possible to avoid detection by the Germans. Players must use various objects (such as cigarette boxes to distract the guards, apples to quickly replenish stamina, etc. ) to complete the levels. Staying too long in the freezing water is not a good idea, as the player character has stamina and when the stamina meter runs out, the health meter begins to deplete. Therefore, it is a good idea to warm up by a fire from time to time or eat something to regain stamina. Of course, there are also weapons with which you can take down unapproachable enemies. Weapons range from piano wire to machine pistols.
