DragonStomper

DragonStomper stands out as the first role-playing game (RPG) released on a home video game console. Long ago, a druid sorcerer created a powerful amulet capable of subduing dragons. On his way to the dragon's lair, the druid accidentally dropped the amulet, which fell into the depths of the dragon's lair. Eventually, the amulet gave the dragon cunning and power to spread treachery and evil in the peaceful kingdom. The player's adventure begins when the king summons him to defeat the dragon. Players must answer the call and first gather strength to become DragonStomper, fighting creatures in a magical land. Gather soldiers, buy magic scrolls, get medicines and elixirs and head to the dragon's lair. Armed with all his skills, training, equipment and soldiers, DragonStomper will descend into the dragon's lair for one last battle to bring peace to his kingdom. Combat in the game is turn-based, and enemies appear randomly and can attack playable characters. Mercenaries join the party and can be controlled by the AI for combat. There are traps in many locations that must be discovered and avoided. Certain situations in the game can be approached in different ways and solutions to problems vary.

Killer Satellites

For decades, weapons satellites orbiting the Earth have been harmless. Now, for no reason, it has fallen from the sky to annihilate the human race. You are a test pilot with an experimental machine that can stop that satellite. It is up to you to protect your homeland. You are flying over the force field of your city. Satellites fall from the sky and appear in the radar area at the top of the screen. The satellites have the ability to penetrate the city's shields, so you have to fly over them and shoot them down before they reach the city. Watch your fuel, as you will lose a life if you run out of it. Also, watch out for the laser heat indicator just below the fuel gauge. If the laser gets too hot, it will not fire until it cools down. The city's force field can't stop satellites, but it can stop your ship, so jumping into it will deplete your energy. In later levels, you will have to deal not only with satellites, but also with meteors. Meteorites cannot be shot, but they cannot penetrate the city's shield. However, if you hit a meteorite, it will be destroyed and you will lose a life.

Party Mix

The year was 1983, and Atari was at the height of its success. The gaming industry was booming, and the release of Party Mix for the Atari 2600 was met with great anticipation and excitement. This multiplayer game was a unique addition to the Atari library, offering a variety of fun and fast-paced mini games to keep players entertained for hours. At its core, Party Mix was a collection of mini games that could be played with up to four players. The game came with a set of 12 different games, each with its own unique objective and gameplay style. Some of the games included Ping Pong, which was a simple yet addictive game of bouncing a ball back and forth, and Space Attack, where players could battle it out in space using their spaceships. One of the standout features of Party Mix was its diverse game selection. Players could choose from a range of games, such as maze puzzles, racing games, and even a game where players had to catch falling objects. This variety allowed parties and gatherings to remain entertaining and enjoyable, as there was something for everyone to enjoy. The graphics of Party Mix may not have been as flashy as other Atari games, but they were still impressive for their time. The colors were vibrant, and the movements were smooth, keeping players fully engaged in the gameplay. The sound effects and music were also a pleasant addition, further enhancing the overall gaming experience. What set Party Mix apart from other multiplayer games at the time was its competitive nature. With each mini game, players were not only competing against the game but also against each other, adding an extra level of excitement and tension. This made for some intense and memorable gaming moments that are still fondly remembered by players today. Despite its initial success, Party Mix unfortunately did not receive the same level of recognition as other Atari games. This may have been due to the arrival of newer gaming consoles, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, which quickly dominated the market. However, for those who were fortunate enough to play Party Mix, it remains a beloved and nostalgia-inducing game that stands the test of time.
