Space Fortress

Space Fortress is a video game in the action genre developed by Pixelmusement and published by Pixelmusement originally released in 1999. It is currently playable on DOS.

Fleets of alien ships are rapidly approaching the Space Fortress! They are overwhelming and there is no chance of victory. However, they can be held off for as long as possible. The weapons of the Space Fortress will destroy as many as possible.

Space Fortress is a static space shooter. The player sits at the controls of the Space Fortress and can switch between managing targets (weapons), energy allocation, damage control, powerup recovery and powerup usage. At all times, the radar image will be displayed on the screen showing any approaching enemy ships. By taking control of the weapons, the player can shoot at enemies using several different types of weapons. Each of them consumes energy, and enemy hits deplete the shield of the Space Fortress. Defeated enemies leave power-ups that must be retrieved with probes and brought back to the Space Fortress for use. The game ends when the Space Fortress is defeated: Either because its reactor goes critical, or because it loses all its oxygen and life support.
