Turbo Sub is a first-person shooter game. The player becomes the pilot of a Turbo Sub, a state-of-the-art war machine that can fly and dive. The player is humanity's last hope, as Earth is under attack by evil aliens. He must destroy numerous waves of aliens while dodging quickly to avoid collisions and enemy fire. Gameplay is simple: use the D-pad to move up, down, left and right, and shoot with any button. Speed is not controllable. The aerial combat resembles the classic Afterburner, but from a first-person perspective. Players can swoop down whenever they want. Sometimes HQ will order the player to dive, which means the player is near a gem capsule where diamonds can be collected. There is always a supply base near the gem capsule, and the diamonds collected can be used to buy bonuses (powerful shots, homing missiles, etc. ). Underwater, players move a bit slower and there are obstacles to avoid (such as the pillars of the sunken ancient temple).
In 2-player mode, the winner is the one with the highest score on this level.
