Description White Death

White Death is based on the board game of the same name and deals with the fighting around the Russian village Velikiye Luki in 1942. There are six scenarios, dealing with different phases of the fighting, and the player takes the role of either the German or Russian side of the conflict.

This is one of those games that try to simulate not only the scenario, but also the war and its tactics as faithfully as possible. Displayed from the typical top-down view on a map with hexagon grids, the player gives orders to units through a menu system. Units are represented by icons that have a small bar showing their strength and movement. Other examples of things the player must take into account are morale, terrain, support and tactical placement/movement of units.
